Like ALL US Reels, it is made of aluminum and stainless steel so their is nothing to corrode or rust.
The biggest difference here is the larger 'Gorilla handle' crank handle to give you extra torque and a smaller spool diameter at the center to give you more line capacity. Combined, these features give you more power and capability to handle larger fish.
